city cycling is dynamic and requires rapid, sudden physical adjustments. freedom to move is essential. arc’teryx designers took great pains to create a jacket that works with a cyclist in motion. the articulated patterning is specifically focused for bike commuting, and works with the gusseted underarms to prevent binding and bunching while bent over handlebars. the cut is long enough to provide coverage, but high enough for freedom at the hips and waist.

the a2b is specifically geared for bike commuting in foul weather, so it needs to provide weather protection in a way that works with the cyclist and the surrounding landscape. patterning, features, even the aesthetic have to perform in an urban environment. the low profile stowhood™ provides exceptional coverage with a high level of peripheral vision. it fits under most bike helmets, and when not in use, stows in the collar where it’s out of the way while riding the bike or the elevator. reflective elements are built in for safety on the road, and tuck out of sight for a cleaner look off of it.
